Sennichimae "Minyamin" Summer Festival

This is an event related to the Sennichimae shopping district mascot Minyamin, a maneki-neko (beckoning cat). It is fun for the whole family. The origin of the place name is the 1,000-day Buddhist memorial services (sennichi eko) held at Hozen-ji and other temples in the Edo period. It is also the birthplace of Osaka’s first moving picture production company.

Festival features programs such as a face painting (admission free) organized by drawing class members or a special corner selling “Minyamin” original goods between 13:00 and 18:00 on each day.
