Takashimaya Exhibition Hall

 This museum was established in 1970 as one of many projects to celebrate and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of this prestigious department store. It holds approximately 20,000 artifacts: including works of art by leading Japanese artists, Noh costumes from the 18th century, and kimonos too; documents of great historical value are also on display. The overall cultural worth of this museum is highly regarded, both in Japan and internationally.

【Exhibition Room】
※Exhibition Room 1 displays pictures, Noh costumes and other items classified and arranged in different themes. This room is open to the public four times a year as a special exhibition site.
※Exhibition Room 2 is a permanent display and holds commercial posters that convey the many years of history of this department store, documentary photos, exhibition medals and many more interesting & valuable artifacts.

※Takashimaya Archives because of the Reorganization and materials, it has been closed since October 30, 2016 (Sun).
