Hoanji Temple

Hoanji Temple was originally located near Hoenzaka, and has moved twice to this current location. It is also said that the name Hoenzaka derives from this temple. The “Standing Figure of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy)” that is open to the public for one week starting January 1st is a wooden Buddhist figure, a rarity for Osaka, made towards the end of the Heian period(794 to 1192).
