The Site of Jyotokan

Koan Ogata built the Jotokan building where he was the first in Japan to conduc t smallpox vaccinations to prevent smallpox.This building was originally sited in Doshomachi in 1849 but was moved to its present site in 1860, from where its activities expanded nationwide.
