The Site of Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The Osaka Chamber of Business was established in 1878 with Tomoatsu Godai as its first President. During the middle of the Meiji period (1868 to 1912), it helped the construction of the Osaka Harbor, and succeeded in attracting the 5th Industrial Exposition to Osaka in 1903. In 1928, it was renamed the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and it still continues to promote Osaka’s economy even today.
