Literary Monument of Sakunosuke Oda

Sakunosuke Oda was born in 1913 and loved Osaka from the bottom of his heart. He left behind lots of masterpieces that depicted the lives of ordinary Osaka folk such as the “Meoto Zenzai” (or, Sweet Bean-meal Soup for a Couple) that brought him to prominence. He died of tuberculosis at the tender age of 34. This monument was erected in his memory by writers who were on intimate terms with him.
