Burial Mound for the Dead in Osaka Castle

This mound is located to the south of the Osaka Castle Tamatsukuri Gate, and was erected by the attacking forces in praise of the Tokugawa Bakufu government soldiers who would not escape from the castle and who perished by their own hand there at around the time of the Meiji Restoration in 1868.
