By-street of Tengo & Heigo

This was the area where the Tennojiya Gohee and Hiranoya Gohee money brokers plied their trade, and was named the “by-street of Tengo and Heigo” after these two brokers. In olden time, money brokers used to be the banks of today and, as a trade, flourished the most in Osaka.
