The Site of Ikutama Jinja Shrine Otabisho

In ancient times, this shrine was originally located in the current Osaka Castle, and was moved when Hideyoshi Toyotomi built Osaka Castle. An “Otabisho” or temporary resting place for the shrine was left behind here. In summer festivals, many worshippers visit and leave this shrine, and a long lively procession passes in front of the “Otabisho.”
